Ogier Côtes du Rhône Artesis 2017
“Remain close to the source in order to better understand the constraints, but also harness its potential.” This is the tenet that guides the winemaking philosophy of Ogier. The Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre comprising this blend are sourced from a selection of vineyards in the hills of Avignon and Roquemaure in the heart of the Côtes Du Rhône. A spicy, yet fruity nose invites you into the glass, followed by a full-bodied palate with silky-smooth tannins.
The nose is very expressive and opens itself on liquorice, violette and crushed red fruits (strawberry, raspberry) followed by spicy notes of pepper and juniper. Discreet woody notes brings a beautiful complexity.
The mouth is dominated by the suavity of the Grenache that expresses on ripe fruit, figs and plums. The Syrah gives some vivacity and greediness to this great Côtes du Rhône showing silky tanins.
60% Grenache, 35% Syrah, 5% Mourvèdre
